Gathered here, in the house of the Lord,
let us pray for the coming of Christ’s realm.
Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

We pray for the peace of the church . . .
Bring peace, O God, to all believers;
show us how to honor and serve you
as members of Christ’s body.
Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

We pray for the peace of the earth . . .
Bring peace, O God, to all the world;
bind us more firmly together
in the pursuit of the common good.
Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

We pray for the peace of all nations . . .
Bring peace, O God, to every land;
teach us to trade our swords for plowshares
and spears for pruning hooks.
Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

We pray for the peace of this community . . .
Bring peace, O God, to our city [town];
make us attentive to the needs of our neighbors
and protect all who are in danger.
Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

We pray for the peace of loved ones . . .
Bring peace, O God, to family and friends;
heal those who are sick, help those who suffer,
and give hope to those who mourn.
Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

We pray for the peace of Jerusalem . . .
Bring peace, O God, to the world you have made:
the peace that passes understanding
and the promise of your new creation;
through Jesus Christ our Lord,
who is coming in glory to reign. Amen.

Invitation to Offering

At the communion table:
All things in heaven and earth belong to God,
who is coming in glory to reveal a new creation.
Let us offer our lives to the Lord.

Prayer of Dedication

At the communion table:
Eternal God,
as we wait for the fulfillment of your reign,
use these gifts and the gifts of our lives
to bring justice to those who are oppressed,
to set free those who are in prison,
to lift up those who are bowed down,
and to uphold those who are vulnerable. Amen.

Great Thanksgiving

The Lord be with you. And also with you.
Lift up your hearts. We lift them to the Lord.
Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
It is right to give our thanks and praise.

Blessed are you, O Lord our God:
You established your people to be a light for the nations,
and called us to walk in your paths and follow your ways.
Even now, you are coming to bring justice and peace to the world.

Therefore we praise you, joining the song
of the universal church and the heavenly choir:
A Sanctus (“Holy, holy, holy”) is sung.

Blessed is Jesus Christ, our Savior:
In Christ Jesus, you drew near to us for our salvation,
teaching us to live in faith and to seek the good of all.
Through his dying and rising, you brought life to the world.

Remembering your goodness and grace,
we offer ourselves to you with gratitude
as we share this joyful feast.

Pour out your Holy Spirit upon us and upon this bread and cup;
make us one in the body and blood of Jesus Christ our Lord.

Keep us faithful and alert for the hour of Christ’s coming.
Let us live honorably as children of truth and light,
so that we may eat and drink together in your holy realm.

Through the Lord Jesus Christ,
in the unity of the Spirit,
